Welcome
We are a Christian congregation, which exists to serve God and one
another. Our Faith and worship aims to be living, vibrant and
relevant to today's world, with it's varied issues and challenges.
We seek to provide a variety of services to our community
in our town centre situation, and alongside other churches to offer
our premises allowing everyone to benefit from their use.
Our hope is that all who come will find friendliness,
openness, and opportunities to serve, as well as to receive. Above
all it is our prayer that something of the love, peace and presence
of God will be the experience of everyone who enters our premises. |
Potted History
The modern Ebenezer was built in 1922, replacing
the original Church, the foundations for which were dug by local
people in 1822.
A refurbishment was undertaken in 1986 to make the
building more suitable for modern useage and this has proved very
successful.
The building now has a beautiful worship area, together
with a modern kitchen and hall. This helps Ebenezer to make make
use of our special position in the heart of Halifax, and to be
of service to the wider community.
We are currently planning a further enhancement of
our building to provide even more facilities for our members. |

Worship
Our Sunday services are held at 10.30am. A warm welcome awaits
everyone who comes.
At 6pm each Sunday there is a 'Worship that Rocks' service held
by the Halifax Central Church. Both before and after this service
there is a social time for people to meet and talk and eat together.
Each Friday there is a short service at 12.15pm, which is held
during our 'Coffee Pot' lunchtime.
We celebrate Communion each month (see our plan for dates) |
Community Outreach
On Friday lunchtimes (10.30am 'til 1.30pm) we hold our weekly
'Coffee Pot lunches. Here we serve meals prepared and served by
our members, and the many people who regularly come say how good
the food is, what good value, and what a great time they have!
Have you been yet? We will be very pleased to see you there! |

Pastoral Care
Ebenezer has a pastoral visiting scheme, which means that everyone
associated with the Church is allocated a pastoral visitor. He/she
will visit from time to time and ensure you are up to date with
all the Church events, and that any needs you may have are supported. |
Baptisms and Weddings
These are available by arrangement with the Minister. |
